Our Tips

How to avoid crowds

  • Visitor flow at the Pompidou centre varies a lot throughout the year depending particularly on the current exhibitions. A good rule is that the first and last two weeks of a popular exhibition are the busiest.

  • You should definitely book your tickets online if you want to get inside without queueing!

  • Avoid if possible, even if you come to see the permanent collection, visiting during the months of June, September and February, as that’s when exhibitions are changed.

  • There are more visitors when the weather is bad than on sunny days, and this difference seems to be sharper during school holidays.

  • The lowest number of visitors can be expected on a sunny day preceded by a long rainy period: that’s THE best moment to visit the Pompidou Centre.

Working hours

  • The museum and exhibits are open every day except Tuesdays and May 1.

  • Opening hours are 11am to 10pm, except Thursdays when it closes at 11pm for exhibitions at level 6.

  • The exhibitions don’t necessarily have the same schedule, check on the museum’s website.

Ticket prices

  • General: 14 €.
  • Reduced price: 11 €. Many reasons could grant you a reduced or free entrance, check the official website for more details.
  • Free the first Sunday of each month (but the crowds are much bigger, so we don’t recommend it).

Tickets are valid for one day only, for the museum, the exhibition centre and the ‘panoramic view’.
