Our tips

Book your tickets online

You should definitely book your tickets online if you want to get to Burj Khalifa’s Observation Deck!

During the high season we advise you to do it a couple of weeks in advance (even one month before your visit if possible). For the low season it depends on whether you want to visit Burj Khalifa during the sunset hours (book your ticket at least one week before your visit) or any other time of the day (then consider booking a ticket a couple of days prior to your arrival). Buying your ticket online will cost you 4 times less then the ticket bought on location in the skyscraper’s ticket office: 125 AED (about 27€) if bought online versus 400 AED (86 €) on location.

So it’s not only time-saving but a money-saving tip as well!

Best time to go to Dubai

High season in Dubai falls in the winter period - from November to April with a particular peak between January-March (while Dubai Shopping Festivals take place).

From May to October the weather conditions are less favorable for tourism, mostly because of the hot and humid weather.

Try to avoid visiting Dubai during Ramadan month: eating, drinking, smoking and other activities are prohibited in public areas. If you come to Dubai at this time - you are expected to strictly adhere to these rules. From another point of view, Ramadan period is the least popular touristic period which makes waiting lines to popular sites small or even inexistent and hotel rates as low as possible.

Most crowded times at Burj Khalifa

Sunset hours on Burj Khalifa are far more crowded than any others. With a good camera you can take three different types of photos in a short period: daytime, sunset, and night view.

Since, even with a ticket in your hands you’ll probably have to queue for a while at the entrance and to wait for the elevator - consider coming at least an hour before the sunset to be sure to be there on time. For example, if the sunset time is at 19:00 - buy your online tickets for the 17:30-18:00 entrance slot. Sunset time varies greatly during the year (it could be 17:30 in November or 19:10 in June) so check the hours (for example, here) before booking the ticket.

At the bottom of Burj Khalifa there are popular musical fountains that can be seen from the Observation Deck. The show starts every 30 minutes after 6 p.m., it’s worth waiting for if you’re on the Deck in the evening. Waiting line to Burj Khalifa

Duration of your visit

It takes about an hour on average to visit the deck but then it’s up to you: the ticket defines only your entrance time, you can stay at the top as long as you want. Just consider there are no chairs or benches to sit on, so you’ll spend the whole time on foot: comfortable shoes may help to extend your stay at 1,483 ft of altitude.

Burj Khalifa's restaurant

Lots of tourists like to see the sunset from Burj Khalifa’s restaurant At.mosphere (just 2 floors below the Observation Deck). During high season you’ll need to book the table by the window almost a month in advance but the view seems to be incredible. You can find more details on the restaurant’s website.
