Top tips to avoid queues at Petronas Twin Towers

To climb one of the main symbols of Kuala Lumpur, the famous Petronas Towers, you’ll need a ticket. The entry is in groups of a limited number of visitors, so the flow on Skybridge and observation deck is constant, and you may not worry about crowds. From the other view, your entry is timed and limited. What you should worry about is getting the ticket - and here’s the best practice:

Buy your tickets online. You may choose the date and the time slot, and purchase them well in advance. Online purchase is not available if your visit is in less than 24 hours. That’s the easiest way to guarantee yourself a queue-free and a worry-free visit.

If you don’t have possibility to buy tickets online - you can acquire them at the ticket office on the Concourse Level of the Twin Towers. The ticket office opens at 8:30 AM, and that’s when the queue is the longest. The timed tickets are sold on the “first come first served” basis, and it’s common to see people starting queueing even an hour before the ticket office’s opening.

One thing that most tourists ignore is that advance ticket purchase is available on place as well. So if you arrive to Kuala Lumpur in the afternoon - you can pass by the Petronas towers the same evening (before 8 PM) and purchase tickets for the next day, the time slot you prefer, without queues on place. And you’ll have more chances to get your entry at the time you prefer than those who will wake up early the following morning and wait in line for an hour or so.

It may happen that all the tickets for the day (and even for the next day in high season) are sold out. That’s why it’s important to pass at the ticket counter on the first day of your trip to be sure not to miss this famous site.

The most popular time slot is the sunset hour - you may have to book it a week in advance.

The Towers are closed for visitors the whole day of Monday and from 1 PM to 2:30 PM on Friday.

The longest queues at the ticket counter may be seen on Tuesday, Friday and weekend mornings. You may choose any day of the week for your visit (as the number of visitors is limited for each entry and can’t be overpassed even during the busiest periods), but there are always less available time options for the weekend visits.

Prefer a sunny weather with clear sky for better views.
