Tips for your visit

To avoid crowds, visit the Cemetery in the morning, right after the opening.

The busiest periods of the year are the months of July and August, the D-day festival (two weeks around the 6th of June), long weekends in May and - especially - the 6th of June, the D-Day anniversary.

From September to April precautions to avoid crowds are not really needed here, the site is enough big and you won’t feel yourself disturbed by other visitors.

In the afternoon there’s a ceremony of flag being brought down. You can watch it if you turn out to be at the Cemetery at that time.

In summer coming an hour or two before the closing time will not help you avoid the tourist crowds - that’s one of the WWII sites that most groups tend to visit in the afternoon.

Opening hours
The Cemetery is open every day, except for the 25th of December and the 1st of January.
- From 15/04 to 15/09 : from 9am to 6pm.
- From 16/09 to 14/04 : from 9am to 5pm.
The entry is free.
