Our tips
Our tips
-
Waiting lines at Reina Sofia are famous for their lenght, we then recommend you to purchase your tickets online, it will save you lots of time.
-
Waiting lines are usually much shorter in the afternoon.
-
The best time to visit the museum is from 15:00 to 17:00 on weekdays.
-
The most popular piece in the museum is Pablo Picasso’s Guernica, the biggest crowds inside Queen Sofia will be around it. We don’t advise you to visit the museum early in the morning, but if you do come before or by the opening time - it makes sense to start your visit from this painting to avoid crowds as long as the museum hasn’t filled up with tourists yet.
-
Try not to plan your visit on the first and the last week of a popular exhibition. You can check current and upcoming exhibitions in Queen Sofia’s Museum on the official website.
-
When the weather is not good and it’s raining there are usually more visitors in the museum, so prefer a sunny day for your visit!
