Tips for your visit
Crowds will rarely be a problem at ISM - on the contrary, that’s a great place to escape the crowds of bigger city museums. Even during the busiest months the attendance remains moderate, and no real precautions are needed for planning.
Just know that Saturday is the busiest day of the week, while Thursday is usually the calmest one.
August and October are the peak months. If you can visit the museum at another period - better do it. April, July and November are shoulder months, while December and January make the quietest period of the year.
Opening hours and admission fees
Open daily from 10am to 5pm.
Closed from 2pm on 24 December and all day 25 and 26 December and 1 January.
Entry to the museum and all of the events and exhibitions inside are all free.

On foot: The Museum is on the waterfront close to Liverpool city centre and the Liverpool One complex. It is located on the third floor of the building that houses the Merseyside Maritime Museum
By train: the closest railway stations are James Street station (5 minute walk), Liverpool Central (10 minute walk) and Lime Street station (20 minute walk).
By bus: Paradise Street interchange is the closest bus station.
By car: the nearest car parks are located in the Liverpool One complex opposite the entrance to the Albert Dock.
